I have known Dana Loving Sparks since I was about 10 years old. I took classes from her mom’s studio. I remember that Dana was always the best dancer, and I watched her in amazement and of course, envy every time she danced. As a teen, we went to high school together and were both on the same dance team. She tried out and made captain of the team and with her great dance ability and leadership skills, she did an excellent job. She was also involved in pageants and singing and anything else that had to do with entertainment. Dana did it all, and she did it all well.

Years later, as an adult, I have my own daughters that I saw great dance potential in. I was seeking a studio that had a competitive dance company that would be well worth our time and money, and certainly that would be best for my three daughters. I heard that Dana owned a dance studio in The Woodlands area. So, I looked into In Step and even though all three of my girls have different dance abilities, In Step offers so many classes with so many different dance levels that challenge each of my girls at the level that they dance on.  I know that they are learning so much and it shows in their abilities.  This is now our fourth year at In Step and my children could not be happier.  Dana and her family are family to us, and I could never imagine my children any place else. Dana has taken all of my children under her wing and has truly taught them to love dance. She has made them confident, team oriented, and respectful of others.  I am truly proud of my girls for the beautiful, young ladies they have become, and I thank Dana Loving Sparks for sharing a part in their lives and mine!!!!!!

Dana,

I want to thank you for 6 great years of instruction for Julia. Starting out as a precocious 3 year old who liked to see her reflection in the television when off while she danced, to the dancer she has become today, has been so rewarding to watch.

When you asked me if I would consider having her join Pre-Company I remember telling you she had no talent. You saw something in her and believed that you could bring it out and I must say you have! Julia can’t wait to get to the studio every day to practice or attend class. She even goes when she doesn’t have to! I asked her why she went to the studio on her days off and she said it was to practice her turns and routines so she could better herself.

The dedication and perseverance she has learned from you and your teachers she will be able to use for a lifetime. I thank you for being a second mother to her and teaching her these life skills, and others, that I also implement at home. Being a working mother and leaving Julia with someone else every day to raise has always been a concern but together I have faith that she will turn out just fine!

The love and commitment that I see you give to all of your students amazes me. How you juggle a business, marriage, motherhood, and a plethora of “daughters and sons” who come in and out of your life daily is beyond me. I know there are other mothers who feel the same way I do.

Julia is excited about starting her 7^th year with you this fall and even more excited to be on Junior Company! It has been her dream since Pre-Company to be with the big girls and now she is. I know you will push her to be the best she can be. She adores and worships you (and the other teachers – but you the most!) and talks about how she too will open a studio one day. Of course this is after she has danced on Broadway!

Our daughters have been taking classes at In Step Dance and Performing Arts for the last six years.  We chose this studio because the classes are small and the caliber of the instructors is excellent.  The teachers here are trained and certified in dance and continue to personally develop their skills so they stay fresh and up to date.  We liked that they know each child in the class, and work to develop each of them individually.  The personal touch shown at In Step is excellent!  Our girls have learned how to dance with proper technique, in an atmosphere that has high standards, teaches good values, and is kind and fostering. As they have grown older, and have had more opportunities to dance with other students from around Texas and around the country, we are very pleased with how well taught and how well prepared our daughters are.  They take classes with fabulous teachers in house, and have the opportunity provided by In Step to take classes with guest teachers from all over the country, many of whom are premier dance teachers in the industry.  Our daughters are very, very happy at In Step.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of In-Step Dance & Performing Arts. As with most parents we initially started our child off in dance at a studio which was convenient to our home. After five years of faithful participation, we felt and frankly, observed other children our daughters’ age which were much further advanced in capabilities showing up at competitions all coming from this In-Step studio in The Woodlands. Once we actually took a serious look at the program offered at In-Step, we quickly realized our child could be exposed to a much more structured and professional level of instruction than we had previously experienced elsewhere.

In making the transition to In-Step we have watched our child grow into a wonderful dancer, with a tremendous level of self-confidence. In-Step not only provides our daughter with a strong level of dance technique, but also emphasizes strong personal skills such as respect, confidence, and a strong desire to do well in other aspects of life. In-Step has truly helped enrich our daughters’ life, and we are very pleased we found such a wonderful place for our child.
