You are invited to experience the 2010 Summer Intensive hosted by Arts in Motion in conjunction with International Ballet of Houston.

 

The Annual Intensive Workshop is designed to give the young dancer a chance to take classes from top choreographers and teachers in a classroom size setting. Participating teachers and choreographers are recognized as some of the most outstanding in the industry. We feel extremely privileged to have them join us in this dance experience and share their expertise and knowledge! The week will end with an in-house showcase.

 

Classes include instruction in Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Jazz, Modern, Variations, Technique, Jumps, Turns and much more!

 

PROGRAM IS DIVIDED INTO 2 LEVELS:

Level I - ages 9-12yrs: At least 3 years dance experience -double pirouette, pique turns, grand jete’, and assemble

Level II - ages 13- pre-professional: At least 5 years dance experience -triple pirouettes, axels, switch leaps, and tour jete’

 

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL I

The Intermediate Dance Program has been designed for students with a minimum of three years of dance. Students should be familiar with basic dance terminology, and should be comfortable with a double pirouette. Advanced-beginning dancers are also accepted, and while classes will be taught at an  intermediate level, instructors will try to cater to each student’s individual needs.

 

ADVANCED LEVEL II

The Advanced Dance Program is intended for more experienced dancers with a minimum of five years of dance, including ballet. Students should be well-versed in dance terminology, and should be proficient in turns and leaps. There will be a placement and assessment class on the first day of the program, where students will be evaluated by their instructors and assigned to a program based on experience and skill level.

 

SUMMER INTENSIVE WILL FINISH WITH PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY

Tuition

Tuition is $600.00 before March 15th and $650.00 after March 15th . A non-refundable tuition deposit of $200.00 is due at time of Registration and the balance is due by May 15, 2010.

 

There are absolutely no refunds after June 1, 2010.
